Types of lighting columns and related solutions
We select the pole for the specific task: a park alley, a courtyard, a highway or a pedestrian crossing. If a standard solution does not fit, we will calculate an individual one.
Park columns

Made to TU U 25.1-39573934-001:2016 from steel S245/S345 (DSTU 8539:2015) with hot-dip galvanising to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024. Marking example: PMO-6 is a multi-sided park column 6 m high.

How to choose a lighting column
- Height depends on the area: park and street columns 3–12 m, road columns 7–12 m, floodlight masts 12–20 m.
- A rough selection of the height, spacing and number of poles is available in the lighting pole selection calculator.

- The allowed total area of luminaires depends on wind pressure and terrain type. The catalogue calculations cover pressures from 400 to 600 Pa (terrain type III). You can check your own luminaires in the pole selection calculator by luminaire area and mass.

Street lighting columns: technical specifications
Design and installation
A lighting column is a truncated pyramid of multi-sided (six or more faces) or round section, made by bending sheet steel with a longitudinal weld.
Shafts up to 12 m are made in one section; taller ones in several.
Installation follows one of two schemes:
- the shaft is bolted to the foundation through a flanged connection
- the shaft is set in a prepared pit and grouted with concrete
The foundation is either a steel foundation made of round tubes or a reinforced concrete one with an embedded anchor bolt cage.
Materials
All elements are made of steel in accordance with the design standards (DBN V.2.6-198:2014) and the working design documentation:
- shaft section and flanges: grade S245 or S345 (also VSt3ps6, 09G2S)
- foundation tubes: grade 20 or 09G2S
- brackets: grade 20 or 09G2S
Corrosion protection
Protection is hot-dip galvanising to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024 with an average coating thickness of at least 55 µm (3 mm wall) or 70 µm (4 mm wall) per ISO 1461.
The coating adheres firmly to the base metal and forms a continuous surface without cracks or chips.
Delivery set and marking
A set prepared for dispatch includes:
- pole shipping marks: shaft and fixings according to the packing list; brackets and crossarms are a separate item with their own price list
- the foundation or its parts and an installation kit, as agreed in the contract
- installation drawings (1 copy per batch)
- quality certificate (1 copy per batch)
- other documents required by the contract
What determines the price of a lighting column
We calculate the price individually. It depends on:
- column height and number of sections;
- cross-section (multi-sided or round) and wall thickness;
- load: number and weight of luminaires, wind region;
- fixing: flange on a foundation or a base embedded in the ground;
- coating: hot-dip galvanising, extra paint if required;
- batch size, hatches, delivery and installation (its cost is calculated separately each time; installation is carried out by a licensed construction partner company).
Brackets and crossarms are not included in the pole price: they have a separate price list (see Brackets, crossarms and caps).

Lighting columns: frequently asked questions
How is a multi-sided column different from a tapered one?
A multi-sided column is made by bending sheet steel with a longitudinal weld and has six or more faces. A tapered column has a round section. Both are galvanised.
Can I order a column for stand-alone solar lighting?
Yes. We make columns with mounts for luminaires and solar panels. Such systems need no cabling, substation or metering point.
What are the delivery terms for lighting columns?
All ranges are in stock; made to order in 3–4 weeks. Minimum order is 1 pc; from 50 pcs the terms are individual. Delivery by carrier across Ukraine, pickup from the warehouse in Bila Tserkva. Cashless payment incl. VAT, 70% prepayment. Warranty is 2 years. Documents: quality certificate.

Do you make columns for a specific site?
Yes. We agree the height, load, fixing type and coating with you and carry out an individual design calculation.
Lighting column, street light pole, lamp post: is there a difference?
There is no structural difference: it is a vertical support that carries a luminaire. ‘Lighting column’ is the term used in catalogues and designs, ‘street light pole’ and ‘lamp post’ are everyday names. We sort them by purpose (park, street, road) and by height, 3–12 m.
