Where UMO-6 is used
The UMO-6 lighting pole is used for luminaires, floodlights and video surveillance equipment. It suits trench and overhead cable supply and is also used in private housing estates and other sites.
The UMO-6 suits local streets and residential driveways. With one-sided spacing the mounting height must be at least the carriageway width, so a road up to 6 m wide is its range; with staggered two-sided spacing, up to 9 m.
The hatch at the bottom of the pole is standard. On request we make the pole without a hatch, in a hinged version with a hinged anchor cage, and paint it any colour.
Permitted luminaire area on the UMO-6
Permitted total luminaire area on the UMO-6 (Caer = 1, terrain type III) at different wind pressures; Q and M are the shear force and bending moment at the pole base. Check your own luminaires in the pole selection calculator by area and mass.

Installation and foundation of the UMO-6 pole
The UMO-6 pole stands on a foundation anchor cage: it is placed in the formwork and concreted with the foundation in advance, and the pole flange is bolted to the anchor bolts. More in Foundation anchor cages FPO, FPM, FKM and Lighting pole foundations.
Matching parts for the UMO-6
- Anchor cage: FPO-1000-1 — 1000 mm high, anchor bolts M24, 4 pcs.
- Brackets KO1 and KO2: KO1(2)-1-1-1.5 (one arm) and KO1(2)-2-1-1.5 (two arms) — the load table is calculated for them.
Material and corrosion protection
For steel 4 mm thick, ISO 1461 requires a mean zinc coating thickness of at least 70 µm (local at least 55 µm). How it is checked: Zinc coating thickness.
The UMO-6 pole in numbers
The pole mass is 84 kg, about 14 kg per metre of height. The diameter decreases from 206 mm at the bottom to 60 mm at the top, by about 24 mm per metre.
How many luminaires can UMO-6 carry
UMO-6 has the highest permitted luminaire area among UMO and UKO models: 3.963 m² on top at 400 Pa. The conical UKO-6 of the same height offers only 1.11 m². At 500 Pa UMO-6 allows 3.049 m² on top, 2.388 m² on a single-arm and 1.097 m² on a two-arm bracket. Here mass becomes the limit: up to 50 kg on top and 15 kg per arm. Two 0.35 m², 14 kg luminaires use only 0.7 m² of the permitted 1.097 m². The margin comes from the multi-sided shaft with a 4 mm wall and a 206 mm base diameter. Guide spacing is 18–24 m. Even a single-arm bracket allows 3.147 m² at 400 Pa. So the luminaire choice here is driven by lighting needs, not by the pole’s margin.
