Where UMO-10 is used
The UMO-10 lighting pole is used for luminaires, floodlights and video surveillance equipment. It suits trench and overhead cable supply and is also used in private housing estates and other sites.
The UMO-10 is used on district streets, where 8–10 m poles are typical in practice. With staggered two-sided spacing it covers a strip of about 15 m, with opposite spacing up to 20 m.
The hatch at the bottom of the pole is standard. On request we make the pole without a hatch, in a hinged version with a hinged anchor cage, and paint it any colour.
Permitted luminaire area on the UMO-10
Permitted total luminaire area on the UMO-10 (Caer = 1, terrain type III) at different wind pressures; Q and M are the shear force and bending moment at the pole base. Check your own luminaires in the pole selection calculator by area and mass.

Installation and foundation of the UMO-10 pole
The UMO-10 pole stands on a foundation anchor cage: it is placed in the formwork and concreted with the foundation in advance, and the pole flange is bolted to the anchor bolts. More in Foundation anchor cages FPO, FPM, FKM and Lighting pole foundations.
Matching parts for the UMO-10
- Anchor cage: FPO-1200-2 — 1200 mm high, anchor bolts M24, 4 pcs.
- Brackets KO1 and KO2: KO1(2)-1-1-1.5 (one arm) and KO1(2)-2-1-1.5 (two arms) — the load table is calculated for them.
Material and corrosion protection
For steel 4 mm thick, ISO 1461 requires a mean zinc coating thickness of at least 70 µm (local at least 55 µm). How it is checked: Zinc coating thickness.
The UMO-10 pole in numbers
The pole mass is 134 kg, about 13.4 kg per metre of height. The diameter decreases from 206 mm at the bottom to 60 mm at the top, by about 15 mm per metre.
How to arrange luminaires on UMO-10
The 10 m UMO-10 allows 1.444 m² on top at 400 Pa and 1.012 m² at 500 Pa, up to 50 kg. On a single-arm bracket with a 1.5 m outreach it is 1.205 and 0.807 m². Two arms at 400 Pa take 0.516 m² in total: 0.25 m² luminaires pass, 0.3 m² ones do not. At 500 Pa the limit is only 0.325 m², so a pair of 0.2 m² units is better placed on UMO-9 with its 0.459 m². The conical UKO-10 gives 1.172 m² on top at 400 Pa. Guide spacing is 30–40 m. You can check your own layout in the calculator for selecting a pole by luminaire area and mass. Mass on each arm is limited to 15 kg. The final distance between poles is set by a lighting calculation.
