Where PLO-3 is used
The PLO-3 lighting pole is meant for luminaires, floodlights and video surveillance equipment. We recommend PLO poles for trench cable supply: in parks, squares, villages and other sites.
The PLO-3 belongs to the main park range: parks, squares and courtyards mostly use 3–6 m poles. With one-sided spacing such a pole lights a strip up to 3 m wide (a path, a yard); with staggered two-sided spacing, about 4.5 m.
The hatch at the bottom of the pole is standard. On request we make the pole without a hatch, in a hinged version with a hinged anchor cage, and paint it any colour.
Permitted luminaire area on the PLO-3
Permitted total luminaire area on the PLO-3 (Caer = 1, terrain type III) at different wind pressures; Q and M are the shear force and bending moment at the pole base. Check your own luminaires in the pole selection calculator by area and mass.

Installation and foundation of the PLO-3 pole
The PLO-3 pole stands on a foundation anchor cage: it is placed in the formwork and concreted with the foundation in advance, and the pole flange is bolted to the anchor bolts. More in Foundation anchor cages FPO, FPM, FKM and Lighting pole foundations.
Matching parts for the PLO-3
- Anchor cage: FPO-800-1 — 800 mm high, anchor bolts M20, 4 pcs.
- Brackets KO1 and KO2: KO1(2)-1-1-1.5 (one arm) and KO1(2)-2-1-1.5 (two arms) — the load table is calculated for them.
Material and corrosion protection
For steel 3 mm thick, ISO 1461 requires a mean zinc coating thickness of at least 55 µm (local at least 45 µm). How it is checked: Zinc coating thickness.
The PLO-3 pole in numbers
The pole mass is 29 kg, about 9.7 kg per metre of height. The diameter decreases from 145 mm at the bottom to 60 mm at the top, by about 28 mm per metre.
How to load the PLO-3 with luminaires and set the spacing
The PLO-3 has a 145 mm base diameter, like every pole in the series. That is why the PLO has its largest wind margin at 3 m. At 400 Pa the top accepts 2.186 m², a 1-arm bracket 1.449 m² and a 2-arm bracket 0.651 m². At 500 Pa: 1.701, 1.095 and 0.481 m². For example, two light luminaires of 0.2 m² and 8 kg each take up 0.4 m². That is within limits at both pressures, and the mass is far below 15 kg per arm. The top carries up to 50 kg. The PMO-3 of the same height allows more, 3.39 m², but for light path luminaires the PLO-3 is enough. Other combinations are easy to check in the pole selection calculator by luminaire area and mass. Poles are spaced about 9–12 m apart; the lighting calculation gives the exact value.
