10 m Lighting Poles: Ranges, Parameters, Price
A 10 m lighting pole is meant for district-level streets and roads. The light-duty PLO range is not made at this height, so there are five ranges to choose from: park PMO and PKO, street UMO and UKO, road DMO.

Which ranges are available at 10 m
- PMO-10: multi-sided park pole, the tallest in its range;
- PKO-10: round conical park pole, also the tallest in its range;
- UMO-10: multi-sided street pole;
- UKO-10: conical street pole;

Mass is from actual production data. The full mass table for all heights 3–12 m is in Lighting Pole Height and Mass: Table by Range.
Where 10 m poles are used
On district-level streets (UMO, UKO), 10 m is a typical height, and the same goes for roads and highways with intermediate SIP cable runs (DMO). The park ranges PMO and PKO are less common at this height. They mostly go on large squares and avenues where the luminaire has to sit higher. To settle on a height for your site, see How to Choose the Height of a Lighting Pole.
Foundation and anchor cage
10 m poles are heavier than the park ranges, so the foundation under them needs a greater bearing capacity. The flange connection and the anchor cage are chosen for the specific range, the mass of the pole, the wind region and the soil on site. Details are in FPO, FPM, FKM Anchor Cages and Lighting Pole Foundations.
Price of a 10 m pole
The price depends on the range. Park poles (PMO, PKO) cost UAH 3,800 to 17,000 per unit including VAT, street poles (UMO, UKO) UAH 5,100 to 27,500, and the road range DMO UAH 25,000 to 39,000. These figures span the whole height range of each series; they are indicative, as of September 2026. The exact price of a 10 m pole comes from a calculation. More in How Much Does a Lighting Pole Cost or on the Lighting Pole Prices page.
Brackets and crossarms are not included in the pole price: they have a separate price list (see Brackets, crossarms and caps).
How much windage area of equipment a 10 m pole can carry
Luminaire mass is only part of the picture. The windage area of the luminaires also affects the choice of range: the larger it is, the greater the bending moment at the base of the shaft. The permitted total area for a wind pressure of 400–600 Pa is listed in the “Scope of application” tables on the pages for UMO and UKO, PMO and PKO and DMO. As an example, here are the limits for the UMO-10, a pole of the UMO range for district-level streets:
| Luminaire position on a UMO-10 | 400 Pa, m² | 450 Pa, m² | 500 Pa, m² | 550 Pa, m² | 600 Pa, m² |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| On the axis, up to 50 kg | 1.444 | 1.203 | 1.012 | 0.859 | 0.731 |
| 1-arm bracket 1.5 m, up to 15 kg | 1.205 | 0.984 | 0.807 | 0.664 | 0.546 |
| 2-arm bracket 2×1.5 m, up to 15 kg per arm | 0.516 | 0.41 | 0.325 | 0.257 | 0.201 |
Permitted total area of luminaires (Caer = 1, terrain type III). For an intermediate pressure, take the nearest higher column; below 400 Pa, take the 400 Pa column. For other ranges, see the tables on the range pages.
Worked example: checking the luminaires
Say a UMO-10 gets a 2-arm bracket of 2×1.5 m with two luminaires of 12 kg each. Each has a windage area of 0.2 m² (taken from the luminaire’s datasheet).
- mass per arm: 12 kg against a limit of 15 kg, so it fits;
- total area: 2 × 0.2 = 0.4 m²;
- at 450 Pa the limit is 0.41 m², so it passes with a margin of 0.01 m²;
- at 500 Pa the limit is only 0.325 m², so it does not pass.
In an area with wind pressure up to 450 Pa this fit-out works. At a higher pressure (the nearest column is 500 Pa) you need a more compact luminaire, or a single luminaire on a 1-arm bracket (0.2 m² ≤ 0.807 m² at 500 Pa).
How many 10 m poles a 600 m stretch needs
Take a district-level street with a 9 m carriageway and poles on one side. A rough count by the practical rule goes like this:
- the lit strip is no wider than the mounting height (9 m ≤ 10 m), so a 10 m pole fits;
- spacing is 3–4 heights: 10 × 3 = 30 m and 10 × 4 = 40 m;
- 600 m gives 15 spans (600 ÷ 40) or 20 (600 ÷ 30);
- there is one pole more than spans, since end poles stand at both ends of the stretch: 16 to 21 poles;
- a UMO-10 batch weighs 2,144 kg (16 × 134) or 2,814 kg (21 × 134).
Treat this as an estimate made before the lighting calculation; extra poles are added at intersections and crossings. For more on spacing, see Distance Between Street Lighting Poles.
Checklist before ordering a 10 m pole
- range: UMO or UKO for a street, DMO if the pole will carry SIP (up to 4×35, spacing between poles up to 40 m);
- bracket: how many arms and what reach (a UMO-10 with a 1.5 m bracket stands 11 m high including the bracket);
- mass and windage area of the luminaires from their datasheets: the sum must stay within the limits in the table for your range;
- wind pressure at the site: the table columns are in pascals (1 kPa = 1,000 Pa); for example, W0 = 0.52 kPa is 520 Pa, so the nearest higher column, 550 Pa, applies. The W0 table for regional capitals is only a guide; the final value is confirmed by calculation;
- fixing: a flange on 4 M24 anchors (UMO, UKO, PMO, PKO) or M27 (DMO); we select the anchor cage with the order.
Send the data in whatever form you have; see How to Order Poles and Masts.
Selecting a pole by luminaire area and mass
You do not have to look up the permissible luminaire area and mass for a pole of this height in the tables by hand: the pole selection calculator by luminaire area and mass compares your luminaires with the catalogue data and shows which poles fit by height, wind region and mounting scheme.

10 m lighting poles: frequently asked questions
How much does a 10 m lighting pole weigh?
It depends on the range: PMO-10 is 104 kg, PKO-10 102 kg, UMO-10 134 kg, UKO-10 132 kg and DMO-10 194.5 kg.
Can I get a light-duty PLO pole at 10 m?
No, the PLO range stops at 8 m. At 10 m you can choose PMO, PKO, UMO, UKO or DMO.
Which range suits a district-level street at 10 m?
Most often UMO-10 or UKO-10. For a road with intermediate SIP cable runs, DMO-10.
How much does a 10 m lighting pole cost?
UAH 3,800 to 39,000 per unit including VAT, depending on the range. The exact price comes from a calculation for the chosen range and fit-out. Brackets and crossarms are not part of this price; they are priced separately.
What do you need from me to work out an exact price?
The range or purpose, the number of poles, the wind region and the fit-out you want. Leave blank whatever you do not know and we will clarify it.
Can I put two luminaires on a 10 m pole?
Yes, as long as their total mass and windage area stay within the limits in the range’s table for the site’s wind pressure. On a UMO-10 with a 2-arm bracket of 2×1.5 m, for example, the total area must not exceed 0.325 m² at 500 Pa.
How tall is a 10 m pole with a bracket?
Per the “Scope of application” tables, UMO-10, UKO-10, PMO-10 and PKO-10 with a 1.5 m bracket reach 11 m, and DMO-10 with a 2 m bracket reaches 12 m.
