How Much Does a Lighting Pole Cost: What the Price Consists Of

The price of a lighting pole covers the shaft, the zinc coating and the basic fit-out. The anchor cage, brackets and crossarms, delivery and installation are priced separately. Below: prices for each pole range, what moves the price within a range, and a worked example for a set of poles.

How Much Does a Lighting Pole Cost: What the Price Consists Of

What goes into the price of a pole

  • the shaft: steel, multi-sided or conical, to the required height and wall thickness;
  • hot-dip galvanising to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024, the standard coating for poles that stand outdoors for decades;
  • basic fit-out: a galvanised pole with an inspection hatch; no cable entry is supplied. DMO poles (for overhead power supply) also come with a 500 × 120 mm hatch.

The anchor cage is not in the pole price. It is a separate item that goes into the foundation before the pole is installed. The FPO range, for example, starts at UAH 1,500 per size including VAT (details in FPO, FPM, FKM Anchor Cages). Delivery is not included either: we quote it separately, and we do the delivery ourselves if needed. Installation is costed separately each time. Brackets and crossarms have their own price list and are not in the pole price (see Brackets, crossarms and caps).

Prices by range

RangePurposePrice, UAH incl. VAT per unit
PLOLight-duty multi-sided park poles4,400 – 10,400
PMOMulti-sided park poles5,000 – 17,000
PKOConical park poles3,800 – 16,600
UMOMulti-sided street poles9,900 – 26,000
UKOConical street poles5,100 – 27,500
DMOMulti-sided road poles (for SIP cable)25,000 – 39,000

Prices are indicative, as of September 2026, and depend on the pole height, wall thickness and fit-out within the range — they may change. Brackets and crossarms are not included in these prices. The full height range for each series is on the Lighting Poles page.

What causes the price difference within a range

  • height: the taller the shaft, the more metal it takes and the thicker the flange;
  • wall thickness and diameter are chosen for the wind region and the luminaire load, and a heavier pole costs more (masses by height and range are in Lighting Pole Height and Mass: Table by Range);
  • where the design wind pressure is higher, the structure has to be stronger, so the installation region matters too (see Wind Regions of Ukraine: W0 Table);
  • fit-out: inspection hatch (500 × 120 mm on DMO poles); brackets and crossarms are not part of the pole price, they are priced separately.

Delivery, installation, foundation — priced separately

Delivery, installation, the foundation, brackets and crossarms are not in these prices. We quote delivery separately, for the specific site and distance, and we do it ourselves if needed. Installation is costed separately each time. The anchor cage is ordered separately from the pole, too. For foundation types, see Lighting Pole Foundations.

A worked example: a set of 20 poles

Take a street where the UMO range fits: UAH 9,900–26,000 per unit, depending on height and fit-out. A set of 20 poles then comes to roughly UAH 198,000 to 520,000, excluding anchor cages, brackets, crossarms, delivery and installation. The exact figure comes from a calculation for the chosen height and wall thickness.

The number of poles a street of a given length needs is set by the spacing between them; see Distance Between Street Lighting Poles.

How to save, and where not to

  • don’t trim the wall thickness or coating class to get a lower unit price: you pay for it later in a shorter service life and costlier repairs;
  • price both options, more short poles or fewer tall ones at wider spacing; sometimes one of them is cheaper for the site as a whole;
  • order the pole and its anchor cage from the same manufacturer, which lowers the risk of a mismatched anchor pattern;
  • the final unit price also depends on the order volume.

What to compare in commercial quotes

Two quotes for an 8 m pole can differ more in what they cover than in what they cost. Put them on the same basis:

  • range and shaft shape: at 8 m the UMO weighs 109 kg, the UKO 98 kg (see the mass table);
  • mass: if a pole of the same range and height is noticeably lighter, it has a thinner wall or a smaller diameter;
  • galvanising: whether DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024 is named and what mean coating thickness is stated;
  • fit-out, brackets and crossarms, anchor cage, VAT, delivery and manufacturing lead time.

Common mistakes when comparing prices

  • treating the bottom of the overall price range (from UAH 3,800) as the price of your own pole;
  • weighing a galvanised pole against one prepared for painting;
  • assuming the anchor cage, brackets, crossarms, delivery and installation are included (ask for each item on its own line);
  • choosing extra height without a lighting calculation: every extra metre adds mass and cost.

Lighting pole prices: frequently asked questions

How much does a lighting pole cost?

Park poles run from UAH 3,800 to 17,000, street poles from UAH 5,100 to 27,500 and road poles from UAH 25,000 to 39,000 per unit including VAT, depending on range and height. These are indicative prices as of September 2026. The exact price comes from a calculation for your site.

What do I get for the pole price, and what do I pay for separately?

The shaft, the zinc coating and the basic fit-out. Delivery, installation, the foundation, the anchor cage, brackets and crossarms are separate cost items: prices exclude delivery, and installation is costed separately each time.

How much does an anchor cage cost?

For example, the FPO range for lighting poles starts at UAH 1,500 per size including VAT, depending on the cage height.

Why do poles in the same range cost different amounts?

The height, the wall thickness (chosen for the wind region) and the fit-out: whether there is an inspection hatch.

What do you need from me for an exact quote?

Pole height, quantity, wind region, foundation type and fit-out. Leave blank whatever you don’t know and we will clarify.

Why are two quotes for an 8 m pole so different?

Often they describe different products: a different range or shaft shape, a different mass and fit-out. One quote may include the anchor cage and zinc to a stated standard while the other does not. Put them on the same basis using the list above.

What zinc thickness should a quote state?

Under ISO 1461 the mean coating thickness on a lighting pole must be at least 55 µm for a 3 mm wall and at least 70 µm for a 4 mm wall. More in the article on zinc coating thickness.
