Where UKO-12 is used
The UKO-12 lighting pole is used for luminaires, floodlights and video surveillance equipment. It suits trench and overhead cable supply and is also used in private housing estates and other sites.
The UKO-12 is at the top of the street range: wide roadways where a long spacing is needed. The strip is about 18 m with staggered spacing and up to 24 m with opposite spacing.
The hatch at the bottom of the pole is standard. On request we make the pole without a hatch, in a hinged version with a hinged anchor cage, and paint it any colour.
Permitted luminaire area on the UKO-12
Permitted total luminaire area on the UKO-12 (Caer = 1, terrain type III) at different wind pressures; Q and M are the shear force and bending moment at the pole base. Check your own luminaires in the pole selection calculator by area and mass.

Installation and foundation of the UKO-12 pole
The UKO-12 pole stands on a foundation anchor cage: it is placed in the formwork and concreted with the foundation in advance, and the pole flange is bolted to the anchor bolts. More in Foundation anchor cages FPO, FPM, FKM and Lighting pole foundations.
Matching parts for the UKO-12
- Anchor cage: FPO-1500-2 — 1500 mm high, anchor bolts M24, 4 pcs.
- Brackets KO1 and KO2: KO1(2)-1-1-1.5 (one arm) and KO1(2)-2-1-1.5 (two arms) — the load table is calculated for them.
Material and corrosion protection
For steel 4 mm thick, ISO 1461 requires a mean zinc coating thickness of at least 70 µm (local at least 55 µm). How it is checked: Zinc coating thickness.
The UKO-12 pole in numbers
The pole mass is 170 kg, about 14.2 kg per metre of height. The diameter decreases from 204 mm at the bottom to 60 mm at the top, by about 12 mm per metre.
Luminaires on top of UKO-12
UKO-12 is the tallest pole in the series, yet its on-top area equals that of UKO-11: 1.182 m² at 400 Pa. Across conical poles from 6 to 12 m this limit stays at about 1.1–1.18 m². At 500 Pa the pole allows 0.822 m² on top and 0.655 m² on a single-arm bracket. Example: two 0.35 m², 14 kg luminaires on top give 0.7 m² and 28 kg. That is below both 0.822 m² and 50 kg. The multi-sided UMO-12 falls behind at this height: 0.834 m² at 400 Pa. The anchor cage is FPO-1500-2; guide spacing is 36–48 m. On a two-arm bracket the limit is much lower: 0.414 m² at 400 Pa and 0.252 m² at 500 Pa. The exact spacing comes from a lighting calculation.
