Hot-dip galvanising price
Hot-dip galvanising costs UAH 20–38 per kg, which is UAH 20,000–38,000 per tonne, including VAT. Where a batch lands in that range depends on its mass, dimensions and complexity. Prices are indicative, as of September 2026. What drives the price, with a worked example, is covered in Hot-dip Galvanising Cost: What the Price per Kg and Tonne Depends On.
Minimum batch and part size
We agree the minimum batch case by case, based on the bath size and the load on the line. Send us a list of your parts and we will advise. The largest part we can dip is limited by the bath itself: 13,000 × 1,600 × 3,200 mm (length × width × depth). Whether your particular part fits is confirmed when we calculate the order.
Lead times
The lead time depends on how busy the line is and on the batch size. We confirm it once we have reviewed your order.
Delivery from Bila Tserkva to Kyiv
POLYGONAL’s production is in Bila Tserkva, about 80 km from Kyiv. We deliver finished galvanised parts to customers in Kyiv and the region. Delivery is priced separately, according to distance and batch size.
What we galvanise
- multi-sided lighting poles, floodlight masts, overhead power line poles and substation gantries;
- road safety barriers and corrugated structures;
- the customer’s own steel structures, from drawings or as finished parts.
We galvanise our own poles and structures on this same line too; see Hot-dip Galvanising.
How to order
Send a list of the parts with dimensions, mass and quantity, a drawing or photo, and the delivery address. If you do not know something, leave it blank and we will clarify. We then work out the price and lead time.
Price guide by batch mass
Galvanising is priced by mass, so a piece count without a mass tells us little. To get a rough figure, multiply the total mass by UAH 20 and by UAH 38 per kg; the approximate cost will fall between the two results. The rate already includes VAT. Surface cleaning, packaging and delivery are charged separately.
| Batch | Mass | Approximate cost incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Batch of steel structures, 1 t | 1,000 kg | UAH 20,000–38,000 |
| 10 UMO-8 poles of 109 kg each | 1,090 kg | UAH 21,800–41,420 |
| Batch of steel structures, 5 t | 5,000 kg | UAH 100,000–190,000 |
Indicative, as of September 2026. Pole masses by range are in the table Lighting Pole Height and Mass: Table by Range.
Estimating the mass when the drawing does not give it
You can estimate the mass of a steel part from the density of steel, 7,850 kg/m³ (use metres for the dimensions):
- sheet: area × thickness × 7,850. A 1,000 × 500 × 10 mm plate works out as 1 × 0.5 × 0.01 × 7,850 = 39.25 kg;
- pipe: π × (D − s) × s × 7,850, where D is the outside diameter and s the wall thickness. A 108 × 4 mm pipe weighs about 10.26 kg per metre, so a six-metre length is about 61.6 kg.
Add the mass of flanges, ribs and fasteners separately. The cost calculator can also work out the mass of a sheet, pipe, bar or section.
Will the part fit the bath: worked examples
The bath measures 13,000 × 1,600 × 3,200 mm. Put the part’s three dimensions in ascending order: the smallest must fit within 1,600 mm, the middle one within 3,200 mm and the largest within 13,000 mm. The allowance for hanging is worked out in the calculation.
| Sample part, mm | Result |
|---|---|
| 11,500 × 600 × 600 (long beam) | Fits by dimensions: all three are within the bath; the hanging allowance is confirmed in the calculation |
| 2,000 × 2,000 × 3,000 (frame) | Does not fit in one piece: the smallest dimension, 2,000 mm, exceeds 1,600 mm; it is better to split the frame into assemblies |
| 15,000 × 400 × 400 (long column) | Longer than the bath: galvanised in sections, sometimes in two dips; the method is agreed separately |
The dimensions are illustrative; the final answer comes after we review the drawing.
How to compare galvanising quotations
The same price per kilogram does not mean the same terms. Before you choose, find out:
- whether VAT is included in the price (in our rate it is);
- what the price actually covers. With us it is the dip in the bath; surface cleaning, packaging and delivery are agreed separately;
- which standard is used and what minimum coating thickness it sets for your wall thickness. We work to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024, and the values are in the article Zinc Coating Thickness under DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024;
- whether anyone checks the coating thickness. We measure it with a magnetic gauge before the batch is shipped.
Typical mistakes in an enquiry
- a piece count with no mass, when the price is charged per kilogram;
- closed cavities without holes. Zinc needs a way in and air and gases need a way out, so a fully closed cavity cannot be galvanised, see designing for hot-dip galvanising;
- paint, grease or slag left on the parts. These are removed before pickling, see the preparation checklist;
- dimensions checked by length only, while the cross-section does not fit the width of the bath.

Hot-dip galvanising in Kyiv: frequently asked questions
How much does hot-dip galvanising cost per kg?
UAH 20–38 per kg including VAT, which is UAH 20,000–38,000 per tonne. Within that range the price depends on the mass, dimensions and complexity of the batch.
Can you deliver galvanised parts to Kyiv?
Yes, to Kyiv and the region. Production is in Bila Tserkva, about 80 km from Kyiv, and delivery is priced separately according to distance.
What is the minimum batch for galvanising?
We agree it case by case, based on the bath size and the line’s load. Send us your list of parts and we will advise.
How large a part can you galvanise?
Anything that fits the bath: 13,000 × 1,600 × 3,200 mm (length × width × depth). We confirm whether your specific part fits when we calculate.
What should I send to get a quote?
A list of parts (dimensions, mass, quantity), a drawing or photo, and the delivery address.
How can I estimate the galvanising cost of a batch?
Multiply the total mass in kilograms by UAH 20 and by UAH 38. That gives the lower and upper limits including VAT. For 5,000 kg, for example, it comes to UAH 100,000–190,000. We confirm the exact amount after the calculation.
What zinc thickness will lighting poles get?
It depends on the wall thickness. Under DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024 the mean coating thickness must be at least 55 µm on a 3 mm wall and at least 70 µm on a 4 mm wall. After galvanising we measure it with a magnetic gauge.
What if the part is longer than the bath?
We galvanise longer poles in sections, sometimes in two dips with the part turned over. The method is agreed separately. Send us the drawing and we will look at the options.
