Hot-dip Galvanising Cost Calculator: Mass, Dimensions, Price Range

Enter the mass and quantity of the products — the calculator shows an approximate range of the hot-dip galvanising cost and checks whether the product fits the bath. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Hot-dip Galvanising Cost Calculator: Mass, Dimensions, Price Range

Cost and dimensions calculator

Mass is the main parameter galvanising is priced by. If you do not know the mass, use the helper below the fields: it calculates the mass of a sheet, pipe, bar or section from its dimensions.

1. Mass of the products
2. Dimensions of one product, mm (optional)

The calculator gives a guideline, not an offer: confirm the cost and lead time with a request.

Request a calculation

How to use it

  • enter the mass of one product in kilograms and the number of pieces — the total batch mass and the cost range appear;
  • if you do not know the mass, open the block “Do not know the mass?”, choose the blank type, enter the dimensions and press “Use this mass in the estimate”;
  • if you wish, enter the length, width and height of the product in millimetres — the calculator checks whether it fits the bath;
  • to get an exact cost and lead time, press “Request a calculation” and send drawings or a photo.

What the cost depends on

Hot-dip galvanising to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024 costs 20–38 UAH per kg (20,000–38,000 UAH per tonne) including VAT. Where in this range your batch falls depends on the mass, dimensions and complexity of the products. More about the factors in the article What the galvanising price depends on.

The calculator works across the range — from the lowest to the highest rate — so the real amount lies between the two values. Prices are approximate, as of September 2026. There is no minimum order.

Calculation examples

Three examples at the same rate range follow.

BatchTotal massApproximate cost incl. VAT
10 lighting poles UMO-8 of 109 kg each1,090 kg21,800 – 41,420 UAH
20 lighting poles PMO-6 of 66 kg each1,320 kg26,400 – 50,160 UAH
A batch of steel structures of 5 t5,000 kg100,000 – 190,000 UAH

Pole masses are from the series table on the site, see Height and mass of lighting poles.

Dimensions: what fits into the bath

The galvanising bath measures 13,000 × 1,600 × 3,200 mm (length × width × depth). The calculator compares the sorted dimensions of the product with those of the bath and shows whether the product can pass. It does not count the allowance for hanging: the exact position of the product in the bath is determined in the calculation.

If a product is longer than the bath or does not pass by width, it can sometimes be galvanised in two dips, but this is agreed separately. How to prepare a structure is described in the articles Designing for hot-dip galvanising and How to prepare a structure for galvanising.

What the calculator does not include

  • delivery of the products and additional work (for example cleaning or straightening);
  • features of a particular steel and structure that may change the cost within the range;
  • the allowance for hanging the product in the bath.

So the result is a guideline for planning, not a commercial offer.

Two more calculation examples

For a steel section, multiply the mass per metre by the length. To find the mass for a given budget, divide the amount by each end of the rate range.

InputCalculationResult
10 steel sections of 8 m each, assumed 12.5 kg/m12.5 × 8 = 100 kg; 100 × 10 = 1,000 kg20,000 – 38,000 UAH
Budget of 38,000 UAH38,000 ÷ 38 = 1,000 kg; 38,000 ÷ 20 = 1,900 kg1,000 – 1,900 kg

Amounts include VAT and are approximate, as of September 2026; delivery and additional work (for example cleaning or straightening) are not included.

Dimensions: a product with little margin

The calculator accepts a 3,500 × 1,500 × 1,500 mm frame as fitting the bath, but one of the 1,500 mm dimensions goes across the bath and is only 100 mm less than the 1,600 mm bath width. The hanging points and lifting lugs also need room, so we check such products against the drawing.

What data to prepare for a request

To make the estimate more precise, add to your request:

  • the mass of one product with flanges and fasteners, and the quantity;
  • the three dimensions in mm, including projections and brackets;
  • the steel thickness: the minimum zinc coating thickness depends on it;
  • a drawing or photo: they show whether there are closed cavities.

Galvanising calculator: frequently asked questions

How much does hot-dip galvanising cost per kilogram?

20–38 UAH per kg (20,000–38,000 UAH per tonne) including VAT, depending on the mass, dimensions and complexity of the batch. Prices are approximate, as of September 2026.

Is there a minimum order?

No, there is no minimum order requirement.

What dimensions of products can be galvanised?

The bath measures 13,000 × 1,600 × 3,200 mm (length × width × depth). For longer or wider products contact us: we will consider options.

Does the calculator send my data?

No. All calculations are done in your browser; nothing is transmitted anywhere.

How do I get an exact cost?

Send a request with drawings or photos, the mass and the quantity of products. We confirm the cost and lead time after the calculation.

What do I enter if I only know the mass of the whole batch?

Enter it in the “Mass of one product, kg” field and leave the “Quantity, pcs” field at 1: the calculator multiplies the mass by the quantity.

Why does the calculator accept a product when one dimension exceeds 1,600 mm?

The calculator sorts the three dimensions you enter (the order does not matter) and compares the largest with the bath length (13,000 mm), the middle one with the depth (3,200 mm) and the smallest with the width (1,600 mm). A plate of Ø1,700 × 100 mm (entered as 1,700, 1,700 and 100 mm) therefore passes the check: 1,700 mm exceeds neither 13,000 mm nor 3,200 mm, and 100 mm is less than 1,600 mm. Geometrically, such a plate could enter the bath only on its edge, with the 100 mm thickness across the bath, because laid flat it would be 1,700 mm wide, which is more than the 1,600 mm bath width. This is only a comparison of dimensions: whether a particular product can actually be hung and dipped that way is determined from the drawing.
