Flagpole Series FShR, FShL and FShP: Manual Drive, Hand Winch or Electric Drive
Our flagpoles come in three series by the way the flag is raised: FShR with a manual drive, FShL with a hand winch and FShP with an electric drive. Each series has its own height range. We explain how the series differ, what they cost and how to choose.

Three series by the way the flag is raised
A flagpole designation starts with the letters FSh, followed by the series letter: R for manual drive, L for hand winch, P for drive, that is electric drive. The catalogue heights are 10 to 100 m. Any other height and any flag size are made to order.
| Series | Catalogue heights | Flag lift | Top assembly | Remote control |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FShR | 10–20 m | manual, halyard outside the shaft, secured on a cleat | top pulley; no rotating head or hatch | none |
| FShL | 20–30 m | hand winch | rotating head; rope inside the shaft; hatch with a lock | none |
| FShP | 30–100 m | electric drive 220 or 380 V | rotating head; rope inside the shaft; hatch with a lock | radio or wired |
FShR: manual drive, 10–20 m
In the FShR series the flag is raised by hand on a halyard. The halyard runs outside the shaft over a top pulley and is secured at the bottom on a cleat: the shaft has a place to wind the halyard. This series has no rotating head and no hatch because the rope runs outside. There is no remote control.
FShL: hand winch, 20–30 m
In the FShL series the flag is raised by a lockable hand winch, and the rope runs inside the shaft. A rotating head at the top turns with the wind together with the flag. At the bottom there is a hatch with a lock giving access to the winch. The series has no remote control. At a height of 20 m there are two options: FShR-20 and FShL-20.
FShP: electric drive, 30–100 m
In the FShP series the flag is raised by an electric drive at 220 or 380 V. It is operated from a remote control, radio or wired. The rope runs inside the shaft, there is a rotating head at the top and a hatch with a lock at the bottom. The remote control exists only in this series. We do not make an electric drive for heights of 20–29 m: the series starts at 30 m. The customer receives information about the electric drive when ordering.
Shaft and sections
The shaft of every series is tapered. Up to 12 m it can be multi-sided or round, and above 12 m we make only multi-sided shafts. The shaft consists of sections up to 12 m long, with telescopic joints. How such poles are assembled is described in Assembling a tall flagpole.
Coating, finial and flag
The standard coating is hot-dip galvanizing to DSTU EN ISO 1461. Painting over the zinc in the customer’s colour is done to separate order, and the terms are agreed per order.
The “trident” finial is made of steel with a zinc coating, and its size depends on the height of the flagpole. At the customer’s request the finial can be anything.
The flag and fastening fittings are included in the supply. In standard marks the flag size is designed for a 2:3 aspect ratio; any size is possible on request.
Cost of the series
Prices include VAT. The embedded part is the foundation component, and its cost is separate from the cost of the flagpole.
| Series | Flagpole, from, UAH incl. VAT | Foundation embedded part, from, UAH incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| FShR | 25,000 | 6,000 |
| FShL | 200,000 | 23,000 |
| FShP | 500,000 | 36,000 |
The “from” prices are the lower guide for the standard marks of the series. We work out the final cost for your height, flag and conditions on request.
How to choose a series
The series is usually determined by height. Up to 20 m an FShR with a manual halyard is suitable, from 20 to 30 m an FShL with a winch, from 30 m an FShP with an electric drive. At 20 m you can choose between FShR and FShL. For a non-standard height or flag size we select the series to the request.
For the choice of height and flag see How to choose a flagpole, for designations see Flagpole designations, and for what the supply includes see What the flagpole supply includes.

Flagpole series: frequently asked questions
How does FShR differ from FShL?
In FShR the flag is raised by hand on a halyard running outside the shaft over a top pulley. In FShL a hand winch raises the flag and the rope is hidden inside the shaft; there is a rotating head and a hatch with a lock.
Which series has an electric drive?
FShP. These are heights from 30 to 100 m, an electric drive at 220 or 380 V and a remote control.
Do the FShR and FShL series have a remote control?
No, the remote control exists only in the FShP series.
How much does a flagpole cost?
FShR starts from UAH 25,000 incl. VAT, FShL from UAH 200,000, FShP from UAH 500,000. We work out the final cost for your height and flag on request.
Can I order a height that is not in the catalogue?
Yes. Any height and any flag size are made on request, for example 86 or 87 m.
