What’s in the brochure
The «Pedestrian Crossing Lighting» brochure presents 5 ready equipment sets for pedestrian crossings, POLYGONAL, 2026.
Inside: vertical (Ev) and horizontal (Eh) illuminance concepts and the pole layout scheme (p. 2), 5 systems — Driveway, Pathway, Roadway, Highway, Driveway Solar — with their component lists (p. 3-7), contacts (p. 8).
Key parameters
| System | Sign | Luminaire | Traffic light | Poles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Driveway | 60×60, 2 pcs | «Perekhid», 2 pcs | — | 2 |
| Pathway | 90×90, 1 pc | 120 W, 1 pc | — | 1 |
| Roadway | 60×60, 2 pcs | «Perekhid», 2 pcs | pulsing, 1 pc | 2 |
| Highway | 90×90, 2 pcs | — | pulsing, 2 pcs | 2 |
| Driveway Solar | 60×60, 2 pcs | «Perekhid», 2 pcs | — | 2 (with solar panel) |
Poles for pedestrian crossings are placed diagonally to the crossing, on opposite sides of its axis: pole height ≈6 m, distance between poles along the crossing ≈10 m, distance from each pole to the crossing axis ≈2.5 m — per the diagram in the POLYGONAL brochure (p. 2).
Who it’s for
The sets are designed to light uncontrolled and controlled pedestrian crossings — from courtyard driveways (Driveway) to highways (Highway).
The «Perekhid» luminaire is an LED fixture with asymmetric light distribution: it creates a contrast between the pedestrian and the road surface for drivers (vertical illuminance Ev) and makes the crossing visible from a distance (horizontal illuminance Eh).
How to order
Each set includes a POLYGONAL-made pole, bracket and anchor cage; LED «Pedestrian crossing» signs and, for Roadway and Highway, a pulsing traffic light with an extra luminaire.
To choose a system, state the road class (yard, street, highway), whether autonomous (solar) power is needed, and the number of crossings in our technical specification form.
Example: reading the catalogue and choosing a set
The catalogue presents 5 ready-made sets of lighting equipment: each system sheet (p. 3–7) lists the contents of a set for one crossing. For two crossings, one without mains power (Driveway Solar) and one with a pulsing traffic light (Roadway), the order is simply the sum of the two sets:
| Item | Driveway Solar | Roadway | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pole, bracket, anchor cage | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| “Perekhid” luminaire | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| Sign 60×60, LED | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| Pulsing traffic light | — | 1 | 1 |
| Autonomous lighting system | 2 | — | 2 |
From the component lists on p. 7 and p. 5.
Reference points of the pole layout
The diagram on p. 2 shows how the poles are placed relative to the crossing; the dimensions are marked with the ≈ sign, so they are guide values. Requirements for illuminance (Ev, Eh) and the number of luminaires are in the article Pedestrian crossing lighting.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Pole height | ≈6 m |
| Distance between poles along the crossing | ≈10 m |
| Distance from a pole to the crossing axis | ≈2.5 m |
The poles stand diagonally, on opposite sides of the crossing axis, so along the road they are roughly 2 × 2.5 ≈ 5 m apart.
What to consider when designing and ordering
- Pathway, Roadway and Highway use cantilevered poles: the sign or traffic light hangs over the carriageway on the cantilever arm, so the arm reach is chosen to suit the road width (arm reach and height).
- In Driveway Solar, the panel power and battery capacity determine both how long the light runs and what the installation costs (how the system works).
- Every set includes an anchor cage, while the foundation type depends on the soil, pole height and loads (anchor cages, foundations).
Questions about pedestrian crossing lighting
How do Driveway, Pathway, Roadway and Highway differ?
By road class and component set: Pathway is the simplest, for driveways (1 pole, 1 luminaire, 1 sign); Highway is for highways, without the «Perekhid» luminaire but with 2 pulsing traffic lights; Driveway and Roadway are intermediate options for streets, with Roadway adding a traffic light.
What is the Driveway Solar system?
The same Driveway set, but with autonomous solar power and remote control — no connection to the grid needed.
How does luminous flux differ from illuminance?
Luminous flux (lumens) is the amount of light a luminaire emits; it cannot be measured at a point or on a surface. Illuminance (lux) is the light falling on a surface; for a crossing, average illuminance and uniformity are what matter (p. 2).
Which system has the most items in its set?
By the quantities in the component lists (p. 3–7), Driveway Solar has the most: 2 luminaires, 2 signs, 2 poles and 2 autonomous systems, 8 items in all. The shortest list is in Pathway, 3 items (1+1+1); Roadway has 2+2+1+2 = 7, Driveway and Highway 2+2+2 = 6 each.
