What PM-20 is for
The PM-20 is a 20 m multi-sided floodlight mast of the PM range: a fixed crown and no ladder or service platform. Such masts are installed at road junctions, airports, logistics terminals and dry ports; the whole PM range is covered in PM masts: sizes and anchor cages.
The permissible area of the lighting device depends on the wind region: from 3.67 m² in region 1 (400 Pa) to 2.0 m² in region 5 (600 Pa); the total mass of the lighting devices is 180 kg. The values are given for terrain type III and Caer = 1.
The mast stands on the anchor cage FPM-570-950; the cage sizes of the whole range are in the table of the article on the PM range.
The top of the PM range: the largest moment and the widest plate
This is the tallest mast in the range, 20 m. The moment at the base reaches 153.63 kN·m, the shear force is 10.01 kN, the base plate diameter is 470 mm and the anchor cage is FPM-570-950 with 12 M30 anchors. The permissible area at 400 Pa is the largest, 3.67 m²; at 600 Pa it is 2.0 m², as for all of them.
Compared with the PM-12, the area at 500 Pa has grown by only 0.14 m², or 5.5 %, while the moment has grown 2.4 times. Higher platforms are provided by PMK masts with a lowering crown, 20–40 m: see the article on PMK masts.
