What PM-18 is for
The PM-18 is a 18 m multi-sided floodlight mast of the PM range: a fixed crown and no ladder or service platform. Such masts are installed at road junctions, airports, logistics terminals and dry ports; the whole PM range is covered in PM masts: sizes and anchor cages.
The permissible area of the lighting device depends on the wind region: from 3.56 m² in region 1 (400 Pa) to 2.0 m² in region 5 (600 Pa); the total mass of the lighting devices is 180 kg. The values are given for terrain type III and Caer = 1.
The mast stands on the anchor cage FPM-520-950; the cage sizes of the whole range are in the table of the article on the PM range.
Where the range returns to M30 anchors
At 18 m the anchors become thicker again: 12 M30 anchors instead of the M27 on the PM-14 and PM-16, and the anchor cage is FPM-520-950. The base plate diameter is 420 mm, the moment at the base is 125.85 kN·m and the shear force is 8.79 kN.
The permissible area is 2.62 m² at 500 Pa and 3.56 m² at 400 Pa. The difference from the PM-16 is nominal, 0.03 m² at 500 Pa, while the moment is 23 % higher. The wind-pressure calculation for your region decides whether this height is worth taking for the sake of two metres. Erection is carried out by a licensed construction partner company.
