What’s in the catalogue

The «TP-PMV.21.01» catalogue is a unified design solution for steel multi-sided floodlight masts for lighting large open areas, POLYGONAL, 2021.

Inside: general data and contents (p. 1), general notes — marking, materials, calculation, corrosion protection (p. 2-4), drawings for 4 mast heights — PMV-20, PMV-24, PMV-30, PMV-34 — with foundation anchor cages (p. 5-8), an order questionnaire (p. 9).

Design marking 4.II-3.2 — wind region 4 (DBN V.1.2-2-2006), terrain type II, maximum windward area of the lighting equipment 3.2 m² (up to 16 floodlights, each 0.2 m² and 20 kg). Anchor cage depth is 1,200 mm for all types. From the TP-PMV.21.01 catalogue.

Who it’s for

The masts are designed to light large open areas with floodlights — stadiums, sports grounds, railway stations, ports, quarries, industrial and logistics sites. Up to 16 floodlights can be mounted around the service area.

Suitable for wind regions 1-4, terrain types II-IV (DBN V.1.2-2-2006), seismic intensity up to 6 points, air temperatures from −40 to +40 °C.

How to order

Manufactured to TU U 25.1-39573934-001:2016. Fixed to a monolithic reinforced-concrete foundation through a flange; anchor embedment depth is designed for concrete of at least class C20/25. Hot-dip galvanising to DSTU EN ISO 1461:2024, coating thickness 80–120 microns. Design service life is 40 years.

To order, state the height, the number and area of the floodlights, and the wind region in the questionnaire (p. 9 of the catalogue) or in our technical specification form.

Example: does your set of floodlights fit the catalogue data?

The catalogue assumes floodlights of up to 0.2 m² and 20 kg each, up to 16 per mast (sheet 2, cl. 1.3). Suppose 12 such floodlights are needed. The check goes like this:

  • windward area: up to 12 × 0.2 = 2.4 m², below the 3.2 m² (that is 16 × 0.2) in the 4.II-3.2 marking;
  • mass: each floodlight is up to 20 kg, so 12 of them are up to 12 × 20 = 240 kg (a full set of 16 is up to 16 × 20 = 320 kg); the catalogue gives no separate limit on the total mass;
  • anchor cage: in the designation FPMV-810-1200, 810 equals the anchor bolt circle diameter on the drawing (sheet 5), and 1200 is the cage height in mm.

What else the general notes say

  • foundation: the foundation’s reinforcement and embedment depth are calculated from the engineering-geological survey for the specific project (sheet 3, cl. 6.3);
  • earthing: to the PUE requirements; the earthing loops are measured after erection (sheet 3, cl. 7);
  • erection: per the catalogue, it is carried out by a specialised organisation to a work execution plan (sheet 4, cl. 8.4–8.5);
  • operation: periodic visual inspection of the steel elements of the mast, restoration of damaged coating, a check that condensate can drain away from the base unit, and removal of tall vegetation at a distance of 1 m from its outline (sheet 4, cl. 11.2–11.6).

Questions about the TP-PMV floodlight masts

Why is the design service life of the floodlight masts 40 years, not 50 like in your other catalogues?

That’s the design figure specifically for the TP-PMV.21.01 series (2021); for power line poles, gantries and lightning masts in our other catalogues the design service life is 50 years. The difference relates to the load type and the structure’s responsibility class.

Can fewer than 16 floodlights, or a different type, be installed?

Yes, the number and type of floodlights are selected for the specific site — the only limit is the mast’s design windward equipment area of 3.2 m², built into its marking.

How many items are in the questionnaire, and are they all mandatory?

There are 12 items, from the date and the customer to the city of construction, wind region and terrain type. All fields are mandatory: where data is missing, put a dash (sheet 9).

Does the catalogue cover a ladder and a lightning rod on the mast?

Yes, as order parameters: in the questionnaire you mark yes or no for a lightning rod (and give its height in m), a ladder and ladder fencing along its height (sheet 9, items 6–9).
